Local knowledge

## Electrical work in Newport

Newport grew out of the Newport Waterways estate, which started in the late 1970s. Its canals first filled with water in 1979, the suburb was officially named in 2008, and new canal stages are still being built to the west.

### What it means for your electrics

Newer homes here usually want upgrades rather than repairs: ducted or split air conditioning, an EV charger in the garage, better outdoor lighting, and power that's safe near water.
