Sound familiar?

Queensland law requires interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in every home by 1 January 2027. Homes being sold or leased already need them. We install hardwired, interconnected alarms in the right places, so when one goes off, they all go off.
Why MBEC: a licensed electrician on every job, Bailey overseeing the work, and a fixed price before anything starts.

Common questions
When do I need compliant smoke alarms?
All Queensland homes need interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms by 1 January 2027. If you're selling or leasing a home, they're already required.
What makes a smoke alarm compliant?
It must be photoelectric (AS 3786-2014), have no ionisation sensor, be less than 10 years old, work when tested, and be interconnected so they all sound together. It must be hardwired or powered by a 10-year non-removable battery.
Where do the alarms need to go?
On every storey, in every bedroom, and in hallways that connect bedrooms to the rest of the home. If there's no hallway, between the bedrooms and the rest of that storey.
Do I need an electrician?
Hardwired alarms must be installed by a licensed electrician. We'll check what you have and quote what's needed to make your home compliant.
Do you work with property managers?
Yes. Send us the list of properties and we'll quote them.
